Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation

Hello hello! So I had been following Anastasia’s posts about this new foundation ever since they had announced that it would be releasing. I have always been a fan of cream/stick foundation because they’re so easy to use but I’ve never had much luck because most cream foundations tend to me targeted towards oily skin so by hour 3, it looked like I have never known how to apply makeup in my life. Not a pretty picture. Finally my dreams came true when this foundation came out because it’s one of the first stick foundations catered for combination/oily skin tones. Did it live up to the hype on my oily skin? Well yes and no. To keep this short and straight to the point, it has a really nice matte finish with a moderate but buildable coverage. I applied it with both a beauty blender and a brush and I liked it more with my brush than my beauty blender. Because it is really matte, I wouldn’t recommend this for dry skin, unless you like a matte finish then definitely use a really good moisturizer underneath or even mix the foundation with a bit of oil for a smoother application.

There are 26 shades to choose from ranging from warm, cool, neutral and olive undertones and there are many pictures up on  the ABH Instagram page to help you decide which shades would suit you the best. Still, if you’re hesitant to purchase this online, these will be hitting stores at the end of August so be sure to go in to try and find your perfect match. I ordered the shade Golden at first because I do like more of a yellow undertone but then after placing the order realized that the shade was going to be a little light for my skin tone (maybe it will be my winter shade?) so I ended up ordering the Tan shade as well. The color was still a tad light for my skin but it’s not super noticeable. After application, I did not notice it oxidizing nor did it transfer anywhere. It set into the skin fairly quickly so you do need to blend it out sections at a time.

Now, I let it settle into my skin and applied my regular foundation routine and by hour 6, I was a greaseball and the foundation actually came off a little but thats probably because I took a little nap and it came off on the side I fell asleep on :/ So far I’m a little dissapointed but I will continue using it in different ways to see how I can get it to last on my skin.

You can find these on the website and they retail for $25.
